Anamaria Golemac Powell has over 17 years of international development experience in countries on three continents, Europe, Asia and Africa. She has served as UNIFEM Head of Office and GRB Specialist in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Policy Advisor for Save the Children South East Europe office and a Gender Expert for UNFPA in Turkmenistan.
Anamaria has been working for nearly two decades in policy development and programme implementation in the former Yugoslavia on issues that include women’s economic empowerment, GBV and sexual reproductive health policies. Most recently she was involved in re-designing the joint UN programme on Conflict Related Sexual Violence and has provided input into costing for new financial instruments for implementation of Gender Action Plan in Bosnia and Herzegovina and has led the costing of Gender Based Violence in Moldova. She has been involved in research work around women’s rights issues, in particular on Gender in Public Administration Systems, Gender Budgeting and Women in Rural Development.
Anamaria has worked with relevant national entities in SEE and Central Asia, helping government institutions develop national and local plans on budgeting for youth policies. Her work with INGOs, government aid agencies and multilateral organisations has also included inter-agency co-ordination, capacity development and M&E.
In addition to fluency in English, she also speaks and reads Croatian/Bosnian and has working knowledge of Russian and intermediate knowledge of Italian.
Henrietta Miers is a Senior Associate of WISE Development, and has worked for 20 years as a Social Development and Gender Consultant in international development
Georgia Taylor has been working on gender, women’s economic empowerment and sexual and reproductive health for over 15 years.
