Claudia Lo Forte

Claudia Lo ForteClaudia Lo Forte is a skilled social development researcher with expertise in gender and age dimensions of social inclusion, child protection and youth development. She worked ten years in commercial and non-profit sectors and academia in development and conflict settings combining long term work in the Middle East and Africa (Syria, oPt, Chad, Jordan) with consultancies and support visits in Nigeria, Zambia, Kenya and Tanzania. Her research is particularly aimed at programme development and policy uptake and she has developed specific expertise in developing qualitative tools for data collection with young people. Key assignments include Team Leading a National Youth Assessment for USAID in Jordan, a Global Review of UNHCR’s Engagement with Displaced Youth and acting as Social Development Adviser on DFID’s Girls Education Challenge. She speaks Italian, French and Spanish and has good command of spoken Levantine Arabic. She holds a degree in State, Society and Development from SOAS and more recently completed a PG Certificate in Social Research Methods from Birkbeck.
