Federica Busiello is a gender technical specialist with over 8 years’ experience in international development. She has been an associate of WISE Development since August 2015. Her areas of specialism include: evaluations (of projects, programmes, and funds mechanisms), Gender Mainstreaming and Gender Analysis, Women’s Economic Empowerment, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG). She has a strong track record of providing high quality research, analysis, and evaluation support to a variety of Government and UN agencies, as well international and national not for profit organisations, including DFID, UN Women, UNICEF and Womankind.
She has been involved in a range of evaluations; in particular, she recently conducted the evaluation of two SAAF funded sexual and reproductive health and rights projects in Peru; this was part of a wider global evaluation of the fund. She also has extensive experience in gender research, which has included contributing to evidence reviews and policy papers, and is currently a part time PhD student in Development Studies at the University of Sussex, her research is based on a gender exploration of social enterprises. Federica has field research experience in Georgia, Peru, Tanzania and the UK, and speaks Italian, French and Spanish fluently.
She also spent two years in Tanzania as a project manager and independent marketing, fundraising and project design advisor supporting local organisations working towards women’s empowerment
